Awake In Wellness Music Therapy, located in Longmont, CO, is dedicated to empowering individuals through music, one heartbeat at a time (including yours). Overview
Seeking a compassionate and skilled Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) to join our team focused on providing exceptional music therapy services to children with disabilities, older adults, and/or teens and youth in the community. This role involves tailoring therapeutic sessions to address the unique needs of each child, fostering their personal growth, and providing support to their families.
Some sessions will take place at the office in Longmont but most of the work will be providing home/facility visits in Longmont and areas south (Erie, Broomfield, etc.). Meetings, continuing education, and the instrument library will be provided at the Longmont office location. The starting caseload will vary depending on the potential employee’s availability and willingess to travel.
While AIWMT specializes in early childhood, we also serve teens, adults, and older adults, and looking for MT-BCs that can support expanding services for these populations.
Responsibilities
- Provide music therapy sessions to individuals or groups to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on individual assessments
- Utilize various music techniques to help clients achieve therapeutic goals
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate music therapy into overall patient care plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to music therapy sessions
- Conduct data collection and analysis to track progress and outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy (willing to consider applicants with a Master’s in a related field)
- Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) mandatory
- Experience working with early childhood is a major plus!
- Willing to work after-school hours at least 2 days a week and/or 1 weekend day
- Excellent written skills as it pertains to client documentation and communication with client, families, and employer
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills with clients, families, and other professionals
- Excellent interpersonal and the ability to connect with clients through music
Compensation
- Bachelor’s degree holders start at $35/hour
- Master’s degree holders start at $47.50/hour
